Riola Xhemaili was born on 25 March 2003 in Solothurn and grew up in Switzerland as the daughter of Albanian parents. She stood out from an early age thanks to her technique, her carefree nature and her love of the game. She began her football training in Switzerland before making the move to the German Bundesliga. There, she established herself at the highest level and developed into a dynamic, courageous attacking player capable of influencing matches with her dribbling, pace and finishing ability.
Since making her debut for the Swiss national team, Riola Xhemaili has brought fresh energy and attacking flair to the game. She embodies a modern, creative style of football and impresses with her relaxed, lively yet highly focused attitude. With her carefree nature and self-confidence, she commands the pitch and demonstrates that the pressure to perform and the joy of playing are not mutually exclusive.
Beyond sport, Riola Xhemaili is an important role model. As a Swiss woman with Albanian roots, she inspires not only young female footballers in Switzerland, but also girls and women from the Albanian diaspora.
